LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State baseball team belted 21 hits for 21 runs in a 21-7 win over a team consisting of former Aggie players during the Annual Alumni Exhibition Game Saturday at Presley Askew Field.
The game was close early as the Aggies led 3-0 after four innings. But a seven-run fifth and six-run sixth broke the game wide open. The Alumni squad scored all of its runs in the final two innings.
NM State right-hander Kyle Kilgore began the game for the current Aggies, pitching over three innings while only allowing three hits and no runs.
Leadoff hitter Michael Medina had two hits in the game while scoring a couple of runs and driving in another two. Senior catcher Taylor Noyer had two doubles and, like Medina, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
NM State begins the regular season with a 12-game home stand at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies kick off the home stand with a four-game series against Saint Mary’s beginning Friday, Feb. 14, at 6:05 p.m. (MT).
