Colorado Springs, Colo. – The New Mexico State men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite, Monday afternoon with a final round score of 6-over par, 294, finishing sixth overall with a three-round score of 6-over par, 870.
Sophomore Kenneth Fadke II led NM State with a final round score of 4-under par, 68. He finished tied for fourth overall at 5-under par, 211. In his final round, Fadke carded five birdies and one bogey. Junior Brett Walker was 2-over par, 218 for the tournament, placing 21st overall after a 1-over par, 73 in the final round. Walker fired four birdies on the day.
Freshman Travis Benson was 5-over par, 77 in the final round a finished tied for 42nd with a three-round score of 6-over par, 222. Senior Willy Hogan was 4-over par, 76, in the final round, finishing with a three-round score of 9-over par, 225, placing him in a tie for 52nd.
Junior Patrick Beyhan rounded out the NM State golfers with a final round score of 7-over par, 79. He finished the tournament in a tie for 73rd with a three-round score of 14-over par, 230.
Air Force won the team title with a three-round score of 15-under par, followed by UTEP (-3), Colorado (+3), Wyoming (+3) and Nevada (+5). Kyle Westmorehead of Air Force won the medalist crown at 12-under par.
The Aggies will be back in action on Sept. 27-28 at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
