SAN MARCOS, TEXAS—The New Mexico State University track and field team concluded its final regular season meet of the outdoor track and field season with the Bobcat Classic.
In the 100m, junior Alishia Perkins finished sixth overall with a time of 11.86. Sophomore Kendra Walker also competed, finishing with a time of 12.35.
In the 200m, Perkins and junior Brianna Cromartie finished eighth and ninth respectively. Perkins finished with a time of 24.08 and Cromartie finished with a time of 24.14. Senior LaSasha Aldredge finished 11th overall with a time of 24.30.
In the 400m, Aldredge finished fourth overall with a time of 52.61, which set a new record in the conference and a new overall school record. Cromartie finished sixth overall in the event with a time of 54.27. Freshman Kelsi Gonzales also competed in the 400m.
In the 800m, freshman Latrice Brooks finished fifth overall with a time of 2:12.59, placing her ninth in the conference and fifth all-time for NM State. Junior Kayla Nagunst also set a career-record when she finished ninth overall with a time of 2:16.26, moving her up to ninth all-time for NM State.
In the 1,500m, junior Sarabel Bojorquez finished sixth overall with a time of 4:41.41. Junior Christiana Barela also competed in the event.
In the 5,000m, two Aggies finished in the top 10. Juniors Gael Sanchez and Carly Porter finished eighth and ninth respectively.
In the 100m hurdles, two Aggies finished in the top 20. Senior Deserae Cota finished 16th overall and freshman Alysha Bolduc finished 17th. Junior Zoe Meade also competed in the event. Bolduc also competed in the 400m, placing 10th all-time in the NM State record books with a time of 1:05.82.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of Perkins, Aldredge, Cromartie and Walker finished third overall with a time of 45.53 to place third all-time for NM State. That same team finished fourth overall in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:43.03, improving upon their previous record to stay at second all-time for NM State.
In the high jump, Meade finished eighth overall with a mark of 5-2.75 (1.61m). In the pole vault, sophomore Taylor Black finished sixth overall with a time of 11-1.50 (3.40m), improving upon her career-best time to keep her at third all-time for NM State. In the triple jump, senior Horlexus Willis finished 12th overall. In the javelin, sophomore Tiffany Gerber finished sixth overall with a mark of 138-4 (42.19m), moving up to sixth all-time for NM State. Senior Kelsey Brennan finished eighth overall in the event with a mark of 138-0 (42.09m).
The Aggies have the week off before the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in Arlington, Texas, which are scheduled for May 8-11.
