Houston, Texas – The New Mexico State men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Bayou City Collegiate Championships, Sunday afternoon, finishing tied for 13th overall. The Aggies carded a final round score of 32-over par, 308, at the par 72, 6,900 yard Redstone Golf Club.
Justin Shin led the Aggies in the tournament, tying for 18th overall with a three-round score of 1-over par, 217. He shot a final round score of 5-over par, 77. Kenneth Fadke was 10-over par, 226 for the tournament, with a final round score of 2-over par, 74. His 74 was the low round of the day for NM State, as Fadke finished tied for 56th.
Derek Baade carded a 4-over par, 76 in the final round, placing tied for 60th overall with a three-round score 11-over par, 227. Brett Walker placed tied for 74th, with a three round score of 17-over par, 233. He fired a 9-over par, 81 in the third round of play.
Willy Hogan was 19-over par, 235 for the tournament and 12-over par, 84 in the final round. He finished tied for 77th overall.
No. 3 Texas took the team title at 22-under par, followed by No. 36 Houston (-1), No. 43 South Carolina (+7), Louisiana Tech (+10), No. 41 Chattanooga and No. 37 Baylor at 11-over par. Brandon Stone of Texas won the individual title with a 9-under par.
The Aggies will be back in action March 16-17 at The NIT in Tucson, Ariz.
