Aggies Coast to 67-37 Win

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Nov. 21)-The New Mexico State men's basketball beat Northern New Mexico, 67-37, in the conclusion of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.

The Aggies (2-3) utilized a size advantage and scored 44 points in the paint. Junior forward Renaldo Dixon scored a season-high 12 points, and senior forward Bandja Sy was also in double-figures with 10 points. The Aggies had 12 players see action, and senior forward Tyrone Watson and sophomore forward Remi Barry both added seven points.

At the half, the Aggies had a 34-13 lead with a balanced scoring effort from the Crimson and White. Junior guard Kevin Aronis led all scorers with six points on a 2-of-3 performance from the 3-point line.

Junior center Tshilidzi Nephawe added five points and five rebounds, and Barry also supplied five points to help the Aggies to a 20-2 advantage in points in the paint. As a team, NM State shot 50 percent from the field (15-of-30).

The Aggies host Louisiana, Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in a game in honor of Kelsey Crooks.
