LAS CRUCES – N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team took on Georgia Saturday afternoon at the Dehann Equestrian Center on the campus of South Dakota State. The Aggies fell to the Bulldogs, 12-4.

 

The Hunter Seat team lost 5-3, while the Western team fell 7-1. The Aggies are now 3-4 on the season.

 

In Equitation on the Flat, the Aggies were victorious, 3-1. Laura Bostwick led the Aggies with an MVP ride against Melanie Carraway, 81-74. Ruby Jenkins also won her head-to-head match up over Grace Rogers, 64-57. Hannah Swarthout rounded out the Aggie points with a win over Kylee Arbuckle, 59-54.

 

The Equitation over Fences team was shutout by Georgia, 4-0.

 

In the Western competition, the Aggies lost 4-1 in the Horsemanship competition and were shutout in the Reining. NM State’s lone point in Western on the day came from Lauren DeVoe in Horsemanship as she defeated Heather Schmidt, 69-41.5.

 

The Aggies will be back in action for their final competition of the fall season tomorrow against South Dakota State.
