5 Andrea Tauai

Prior to NM State: Tauai a 5-10 outside hitter who is originally from Tauranga, New Zealand, joins the Aggies after playing at Hillsborough Community College.  She was a first team Junior College All-American in 2013 after hitting .372 for HCC as an outside hitter.  Tauai played under Coach Larkin for two seasons at and led her team to an undefeated season and Sun Coast Conference title in 2012, while returning in 2013 for a second consecutive conference title.  She was a two-year first team all-conference selection and was the Sun Coast Conference Player of the Year in 2013.  Tauai was also on the all-state team in 2012 and 2013 and was on the all-state tournament team in 2012 and 2013.  In addition, Tauai was a part of the NJCAA All-Tournament team in 2012 and 2013.

High School: Tauai attended Tauranga Girls College in Tauranga, New Zealand.

Personal: Tauai is the daughter of Luma and Toa Tauai and was born in Tauranga, New Zealand.  She is majoring in communications.
