Rother & Rodriguez named NFCA All-Region

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Junior Lacey Rother and junior Staci Rodriguez have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Region teams. Rother, the WAC Player of the Year, was named second team All-Pacific Region, while teammate and fellow outfielder Rodriguez was named to the third team.

“We are very proud that Lacey and Staci earned regional accolades” head coach Kathy Rodolph said. “This region includes much of the Pac-12, so it reflects a high level of respect for their performances this year. Both young ladies worked tirelessly to be the best they could be for our team this season and I am grateful they are Aggies.”

On the season, Rother had a .376 batting average, recording 47 hits and 37 RBI in 125 at bats.  With a season slugging percentage of .648, she recorded eight home runs and 10 doubles for 81 total bases.  With only one error on the season, Rother recorded a fielding percentage of .971. Rother was also named a first team All-WAC selection in the 2014.

Rodriguez led the Aggies in batting overall, with a .397 batting average and a .788 slugging percentage.  In 146 at bats Rodriguez recorded 58 hits, 45 RBI and a team-high 15 homeruns. Rodriguez also recorded a team-high 37 walks.  Rodriguez was a second team All-WAC selection in 2014.
