Menís Tennis Defeats WNMU 4-0

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men’s tennis team earned its eighth home victory of the season on Wednesday, April 2 with a 4-0 win over Western New Mexico. The Aggies move to 9-10 this season.

In doubles play, sophomore Naveen Manivannan and Marc Westgate teamed up for an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot while redshirt sophomore Paul Denele and junior Patrick Pfister won 8-5 at the second court.

NM State went into singles play with the 1-0 lead and was victorious in three more matches for the win. Denele won at the No. 3 singles position 6-0, 6-0 and the next two Aggie wins came at the fifth and sixth courts.

Sophomore Liam Goldberg won his match over Francisco Damasio in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) and junior Patrick Pfister defeated Omar Lopez 6-0, 6-1.

NM State concludes the regular season at home against Grand Canyon on April 12 and UT-Permian Basin on April 13.
