NM State Menís Golf Ready for ASU Thunderbird Invitational

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State men’s golf team travels to Phoenix, Ariz., for the 42nd annual ASU Thunderbird Invitational at ASU's Karsten Golf Course (par-71, 7,026 yards) March 21-23 (Friday-Sunday). The 14 participating schools will play 18 holes each day.

Junior Brett Walker, senior Willy Hogan, junior Pat Beyhan, sophomore Kenneth Fadke II and freshman Luis Medina will represent NM State this weekend.

The Aggies are coming off a 12th place finish at the NIT this past weekend. The Thunderbird Invitational will be the third tournament for NM State in the last two weeks.

NM State will tee it up against some of the best teams in the country, including Arizona, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Hawaii, Iowa, Iowa State, Pepperdine, San Diego, St. John’s, Tulsa, Washington State and Wichita State.

The Aggies finished 10th at the 2013 Thunderbird Invitational. Fadke II led NM State in the third round with a 5-under par, 66, carding three birdies, an eagle on his way to a bogey free final round. For the tournament, Fadke was 6-under par, 207 and tied for fifth overall. His 66 is the best round for him in his Aggie career and was also the lowest round of the day in the tournament.
