NM State Menís Golf Seventh at Louisiana Classic

Lafayette, La. – The No. 47 ranked New Mexico State men’s golf team currently sits in seventh place after two rounds of the Louisiana Classic. The Aggies carded rounds of 8-over par, 296 and 1-over par, 289 in rounds one and two respectively and are 9-over par, 585 heading in the final round of play. NM State is playing at the 6,898-yard, par-72, Oakbourne Country Club.

The Aggies were led by junior Brett Walker, who is currently tied for 20th overall with a two-round score of even par, 144 (71-73). On the day, Walker recorded six birdies. Senior Willy Hogan is 1-over par, 145 (75-70) after two rounds of play, carding seven birdies on the day. Hogan is tied for 23rd overall.

Sophomore Kenneth Fadke II is tied for 39th with a two-round score of 4-over par, 148 (76-72), with just two birdies for the day. Junior Pat Beyhan carded six birdies in his first two rounds, placing him in a tie for 47th overall with a score of 6-over par, 150 (76-74).

Freshman Luis Medina was also 6-over par, 150 (74-76) after the first two rounds, with six birdies, putting him in a tie for 47th.

No. 9 Illinois leads the tournament at 27-under par, followed by No. 33 LSU (-14), Louisiana (-9), Louisiana Tech (-3) and Tulsa (-2). Illinois’ Brian Campbell leads the individual leader board at 9-under par.

The Aggies will be back in action Tuesday morning for the final round of competition.
