Bishop, Ga. – The No. 5 New Mexico State Equestrian team took on No. 2 Georgia, Friday afternoon at the UGA Equestrian Complex. The Aggies fell to the Bulldogs, 17-3. NM State moves to 8-4 on the season, as Georgia improves to 9-3 overall.

"Today didn't go as we hoped, Georgia is a very tough team to play at home and they were well prepared.  Our riders did lay down some solid rides, and kept the penalties to a minimum, we just could not take the lead."

The Aggies were blanked in the Hunter Seat competition, falling 5-0 in both the Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences. The Western competition, Rianna Storey earned the only point for the Aggies in Horsemanship with a 73.5-71.7 win over Heather Schmidt.

In Reigning, the Aggies took two points, as Brynn Larson defeated Claudia Spreng, 70-63.5, while Stefanie Story beat McKenzie Lantz, 70.5-65.

NM State will be back in action Saturday when they face No. 4 Auburn.
