Aggies Set to Start 2014 Season

LAS CRUCES, N.M.—The New Mexico State track and field team begins their 2014 indoor season when it travels to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the Lobo Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The Aggies look to improve upon their 2013 season, where they finished third in the 2013 WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 23).
NM State returns the athletes to make improvements this season including seniors Brianna Cromartie and Alishia Perkins and junior Jenna Banegas, who all qualified to compete in the 2013 USA Indoor Championships (March 3).
Cromartie was named WAC Athlete of the Year and was also High Point Champion during the indoor championship.
The Aggies also return senior Zoe Meade, who took first place in the pentathlon in the2013 WAC Indoor Championships. Meade broke her own record in the pentathlon that she set in 2012.
During the 2013 season, the Aggies set eight all-time records. Cromartie and Perkins are responsible for five of the new records, including the 4x400 meter relay that they ran together.
After the Lobo Invitational, the Aggies return to Albuquerque for the Cherry and Silver competition on Jan. 24-25.
