RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 20, 2013) – Designated hitter Bobby Lecount of the 2013 New Mexico State baseball team was recently selected as an honorable mention CollegeBaseballInsider.com/Louisville Slugger All-American.

Lecount helped the Aggies to a 29-28 record and a 13-14 Western Athletic Conference record while hitting .356 against WAC opponents.  He played in all 57 games last season and led the league with 69 RBI, with 37 of those RBI coming against league opponents.

Lecount also led the team and the league with 15 home runs and a .647 slugging percentage.  He was solid at third base posting 140 putouts and 73 assists while making plus-plays throughout the season.

After a great senior season, Lecount earned first team all-WAC honors and was named WAC Hitter of the Week twice.  He also earned Louisville Slugger Player of the Week honors for his play during the week of April 1-7.  That week he went 6-of-13 (.462)  to help the Aggies to a win over in-state rival New Mexico and assisted in two victories over Dallas Baptist.  He tallied six walks, nine RBI, two runs, a double, a triple and scored six runs, while his extra-base hits that week equated to a 1.154 slugging percentage.  Lecount reached base safely at least once in every game that week.
