“We always enjoy the opportunity to engage our stakeholders and the Aggies in Paradise event was a great opportunity for us,” Wayne Stickney, Associate Athletics Director of Development said. “This year’s event was a huge success and we want to thank our stakeholders, coaches and student-athletes for coming out. We raised over $25,000 for scholarship opportunities, which will go a long way in providing an exceptional collegiate experience for our student-athletes. We look forward to many more events like this in the future.”
Over 375 people were in attendance Friday evening, raising over $25,000 for Aggie Athletics and scholarships. Highlighting the event was a silent auction with over 80 items for attendees to bid, as well as, three live auction items that sold for over $1,000 each.
Live entertainment was provided by World Dance Las Cruces, who performed a Hula-Hoop dance, while also involving some of the NM State coaches and student-athletes.
Former NM State football player, Leon Oloya, was also in attendance and addressed the crowd about his experience as a student-athlete and the importance of supporting student-athletes.
