SAN JOSE, CALIF. (March 23) – The New Mexico State women’s tennis team fell 6-1 against Louisiana Tech, Saturday March 23 in San Jose, Calif. The Aggies drop their third straight conference dual and move to 4-10 on the season and 0-3 in Western Athletic Conference play.
Ginet Pinero and Ros-Polly Nguyen teamed up for a 8-6 win at court one. At the second position, Annemieke Witte and Denise Van Der Ben fought hard but was defeated 8-6 by the Louisiana Tech duo.
The Aggies fell in the third court 8-3.
In single play, NM State picked up a win in the fifth court. Ros-Poly Nguyen earned her second WAC win against Annemieke Whitte in a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
NM State worked through three sets in the first court, but was unable to hold off the Bulldogs and eventually fell 6-1.
The Aggies continue WAC play against Seattle in San Jose, Calif., Sunday, March 24, at 10 a.m.
