TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men’s golf team finished the final round at the Don Pucktte N.I.T. Sunday, March 17, at the par 72, 7,200-yard OMNI Tucson National. The Aggies carding a final round team score of 10-over par, 298, recording a three-round total of 9-over par, 873 (283-292-298).
Freshman Kenneth Fadke Lead the Aggies in the tournament with a 1-under par, 215 (72-70-73), placing in a tie for 19th overall. Fadke was 1-over par, 73 in the final round. Senior Justin Shin finished even par, 216 (70-71-75) for the tournament, carding a 3-over par, 75 in the final round. He tied for 22nd overall.
Sophomore Brett Walker shot a 3-over par, 75 in the final round, finishing the tournament at 4-over par, 220 (68-77-75), placing tied for 39th overall. Freshman Joey Martinez finished up his tournament at 9-over par, 225 (76-74-75), tying for 58th overall.
Senior Derek Baade shot a 5-over par, 77 in the final round and recorded a three-round score of 12-over par, 228, tying for 67th overall.
No. 5 New Mexico won the tournament at 20-under par, followed by No. 18 TCU (-19), No. 13 Oklahoma State (-12), No. 15 Arkansas (-9) and No. 27 Texas A&M (-5). Julien Brun of TCU won the individual tournament at 8-under par.
New Mexico State will be back in action on March 21-23 at the Desert Shootout in Phoenix, Ariz.
