LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men’s golf team hosts the 2012 Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, Oct. 22-23 at the 7,074-yard, par-72 NM State Golf Course. The Aggies have won this event three times since 1996.
Last year, UNLV took the tournament team title at 34-under par, followed by Wichita State (-26), NM State (-5), Nevada (+3) and Kansas (+4). Hunter Sparks of Wichita State won the individual title with a three-round score of 14-under par.
The tournament will feature a strong group of collegiate teams including, Kansas State, Wichita State, UNLV, UTEP, Western New Mexico, UTSA, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas State, Northern Colorado and Oral Roberts.
Golfers will play 36 holes on Monday with a shot gun start at 8:00 a.m. (MT), followed by 18 holes on Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. shot gun start.
