LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Oct. 1)-The New Mexico State swimming and diving team is preparing for the 2012-13 season, and the Aggies host the annual Crimson and White intrasquad meet, Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. at the NM State Natatorium. The meet is free and open to the public.

"It's been a great month, and we have a special group of ladies," head coach Rick Pratt said. "This meet is important for many reasons, but overall it is a good way for our 11 freshmen to break the ice."

This season, the Aggies return 12 swimmers and one diver with four seniors from a team that broke 10 school records and a program-best 12 NCAA 'B' cuts in 2011-12. The Crimson and White welcome 11 freshmen to the squad this fall.

"This meet will help us judge where we are this early in the season and to help us decide some things in the lineup for our first dual meet against Air Force."

The Aggies begin the 2012-13 regular season at home, when they host Air Force, Oct. 13 at 11:30 a.m.
