MISSOULA, Mont. (Sept. 14)-The New Mexico State soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime draw at Montana (4-4-1). It was the third extra time match of the season for the Aggies (1-5-2).

The NM State defense was relentless with junior goalkeeper Mikaela Bitner grabbing a career-high 12 saves in her second shutout of the year. Senior defender Courtney Irwin and freshman defender Mikaela Haley helped the effort and played all 110 minutes along with Bitner.

"Courtney Irwin and Mikaela Bitner were unbelievable for us," head coach Blair Quinn said.

The Aggie offense started strong with three shots in the first 22 minutes of action, but both defenses controlled the contest for a 0-0 halftime score. The second half was a defensive struggle as well, and Bitner helped force overtime with a pair of saves in the final minute of regulation. She also recorded two saves in the first overtime and one save in the second overtime.

The Aggies meet in-state rival New Mexico, Sunday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. in Albuquerque.
