Men's Tennis Celebrates Senior Day against WNMU

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 17) - The New Mexico State men's tennis team celebrates senior day for Matej Stakne against Western New Mexico in its final match of the regular season Wednesday at 1 p.m. on the NM State Tennis Center courts.

NM State (7-14, 2-3 WAC) has won three of its last four matches including a 7-0 blanking of Portland State the last time out. In that match, three Aggie freshmen Germain Degardin, Eduardo Cabrita and Patrick Pfister posted double-bagel wins at Nos. 4-6 singles and no Aggie dropped more than five games against their Viking opponent.

In its final road swing of the season at Reno, NM State toppled Nevada 4-3 and Portland State 7-0. The Aggies are 2-6 at home this year.

Western New Mexico (12-8, 6-0 RMAC), of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in Division II, enters the contest on a six-match winning streak. The Mustangs are 0-4 against Division I foes this year. WNMU is 4-3 on the road this season.

NM State hosts the WAC Tennis Championships beginning Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29.
