Shin Leads 66th Annual Western Intercollegiate

Santa Cruz, Calif. - Junior Justin Shin carded two rounds of under par golf to lead the 66th Annual Western Intercollegiate by one stroke at the par 70, 6,615-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course. Shin is 3-under par, 137 (68-69) after recording eight birdies in the two rounds.

As a team, NM State is 11th overall at 58-over par, after two rounds. Freshman Cosme Beamonte is 8-over par, 148 (73-75) and is tied for 32nd overall. Senior Gaston De La Torre is tied for 68th at 16-over par, 156 (79-77).

Junior Derek Baade is 17-over par, 157 (77-80) after two round and is tied for 71st, while senior Zachery Fullerton is 20-over par, 160 (79-81) after two rounds and is in a tie for 81st. Freshman Brett Walker was 26-over par, 166 (80-86) and tied for 86th overall.

Texas leads the tournament at 4-over par, followed by Stanford (+13), UCLA (+15), Southern California (+22) and California (+35).

The Aggies will be back in action on Sunday morning for the final round at the 66th Annual Western Intercollegiate.
