Men's Golf Heads to 2012 Desert Shootout

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State men's golf team will travel to Goodyear, Ariz., this weekend for the 2012 Desert Shootout, hosted by the University of Denver. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the 7,015-yard, par 72 Palm Valley Golf Course. 

Rounds one and two will tee off from holes one and 10 starting at 7:30 a.m., while round three will be a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The Aggies will start Justin Shin, Gaston De La Torre, Derek Baade, Cosme Beamonte and Miko Alejandro, while Simon Miller will compete as an individual.

Fifteen teams will participate in this year's event, including: Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Creighton, Denver, Idaho, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Nevada, San Diego, Southern Utah, Tulsa and Wichita State.

Results will be available at www.NMStateSports.com following each round of the tournament.
