Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Southern Highland

Las Vegas, Nev. - The New Mexico State men's golf team carded a 44-over par, 332 in the third round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters Sunday at the Southern Highlands Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev. The Aggies finished 14th out of 15 teams after three rounds at 79-over par, 943.

Senior Zachery Fullerton led the Aggies with a three round score of 8-over par, 224. Fullerton finished in a tie for 27th overall, after carding a 6-over par, 78 in the final round. Junior Justin Shin recorded a 14-over par, 86 in the final round and tied for 61st overall for the tournament with a three-round score of 19-over par, 235.

Senior Gaston De La Torre had a 10-over par, 82 in the final round a finished the tournament at 23-over par, 239, tying for 65th. Freshman Brett Walker was 31-over par, 247 for the tournament, placing him in 74th overall. Walker carded a final round score of 14-over par, 86.

Redshirt senior Miko Alejandro also carded a 14-over par, 86 in the final round. For the tournament he finished 76th with a three-round score of 33-over par, 249.

UNLV won the tournament at 8-over par, followed by California (+9), UCLA (+18), Texas A&M (+21) and Stanford (+24). Blake Biddle of UNLV won the individual title at 4-under par.

The Aggies will be back in action March 22-24 at the 2012 Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz.
