Stillwater, Okla. - The New Mexico State Equestrian team wrapped up the weekend road trip on Saturday, falling to Oklahoma State 12-5 at the Animal Science Arena.

The Hunter Seat team tied the Cowgirls, 5-5, winning the Equitation on the Flat and dropping a close Equitation over Fences, 2-3. The Western team struggled on the day, 3-0 in Horsemanship and 4-1 in Reining but did pick up MVP honors in both disciplines.

Laura Bostwick, Brianna Raab and Ruby Jenkins were all victorious in Equitation on the Flat. Raab recorded the highest score of the day in the event with an 81-70 win over Haydan Vosburgh. Bostwick beat Ali Rose, 79-78, while Jenkins beat Allison Dooman, 80-76. Amy Lang got back on track in Equitation over Fences with an 86-84 win over Samantha Elser and has now won 11 of her last 12 over Fence competitions. Amber Tassel earned the other point for the Aggies in Equitation over Fences with a 71-66 win over Allison Joyce.

On the Western side, despite just one point on the day, the Aggies did have some very close head-to-head rides, including both MVP honors. Lauren DeVoe and Clarissa Edgerton both tied their competitors in Horsemanship, while Megan Gould garnered her fifth MVP of the season despite a loss by just a half a point.

The Reining team had similar results, as Tara Wilson fell by just one and a half points and Chelsea Campbell's head-to-head match up was decided by just one point. Bryn Larson recorded the highest score of the day in Reining, a 74, which earned her the MVP award.

The Aggies will be back in action on Feb. 11 as NM State will face South Dakota State in a Western only event at the NM State Equestrian Center.
