TUCSON, Ariz. (Jan. 6)-The New Mexico State swimming and diving team returned to the pool for the 2012 spring semester with a five-team meet in Tucson, Ariz.
The Aggies defeated WAC foe Northern Arizona, 145-117, but fell to Oregon State, 157-105, Iowa, 160-102, and meet host Arizona, 188-71.
"The turn out of the meet wasn't exactly what we hoped for, but it was a great day considering the intense training the girls have been doing since they've returned," head coach Rick Pratt said. "Despite the training, we had some great swims that included unrested season-best times."

Freshman Jessica Legge garnered runner-up honors in the 200 individual medley, while sophomore Tricia Kiss followed in fourth place. In the 100 free, freshman Aliena Schmidtke posted a team-high fourth-place finish. She also led the way in eighth in the 50 free. Sophomore Terrin Seaver scored for the Aggies in the 100 back with an eighth-place finish.
