FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 23)-In the last road game of the regular season, the New Mexico State soccer team earned a 2-2 tie in double overtime at Fresno State.

This was the fourth consecutive overtime game for the Aggies, who are 8-7-3 and 1-3-2 in the WAC, while Fresno State moved to 9-4-4 and 3-1-1.

"It was unbelievable," head coach Blair Quinn said. "We played so hard, and I'm really proud of them. That's a very good team, and we made adjustments that made a big difference."

The Aggies trailed 1-0 when Fresno State scored in the 38th minute on a header from junior forward Callie Hancock.

In the second half, NM State tied the game at 1-1 in the 73rd minute when the ball bounced off the Bulldogs and into the Aggie net for an own goal.

In the 81st minute, Fresno State reclaimed the lead, 2-1, on Hancock's second score of the game. The Aggies answered in the 84th minute when freshman forward Layla Todd fired a shot that deflected off a defender for her third goal of the season to knot the match at 2-2.

Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Erin Wosick grabbed a season-high nine saves including two game-saving stops in the final minutes of the second overtime.

"It was unbelievable intensity between both teams," Quinn said. "It was a good back and forth battle, and Erin Wosick was awesome."

The Aggies host Hawai'i, Friday Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. on senior night in the regular season finale inside Aggie Memorial Stadium.
