Biography

HIGH SCHOOL: Hinkle comes to New Mexico State after lettering three seasons in volleyball at Lake Travis High School in Lake Travis, Texas for head coach Thomas Kane. As a senior, she recorded 435 kills, 465 digs, 57 aces and 34 blocks while leading Cavaliers to a 31-8 overall record and a second place finish at the District 27-4A Tournament. She was named to the 2004 4A Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State team, the Texas Sports Writer's Association All-State team and the lonestarvolleyball.com All-State team as a senior. Hinkle was also named to three All-Tournament teams (Wimberley Texfest, Hays Rebel Bash and the Fort Worth Northwest Classic) and first team All-27-4A District after guiding the Cavaliers to the 27-4A Bi-District and Area championships. As a junior, Hinkle earned first team All-25-4A District honors after helping Travis Lake High to a 25-13 overall record and a fourth place finish at the district tournament. She was also named to the all-tournament teams at the 2003 Wimberley Texfest and the Hays Rebel Bash. Along with playing prep volleyball, Hinkle also competed on two club volleyball teams. In 2002, as a member of the Austin Juniors, Hinkle finished 13th at the Junior Olympics. Last season, she joined the Austin Metro and captained her squad to a seventh place showing at the 2004 Junior Olympics.

PERSONAL: Honor E. Hinkle was born in Dallas, Texas and is the daughter of David and April Hinkle. She is undecided about a major at New Mexico State.
