Biography
2009-10 (Junior)
As a junior, Robert Lumpkins played in eight games with five contests started in 2009-10. He averaged 4.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. In his first career start, Lumpkins grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in the home opener against New Mexico (Nov. 17) along with a season-high eight points and two assists. At Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 24), he scored seven points, including his first 3-pointer of the year, and recorded a pair of assists in a career-high 31 minutes of action.
2008-09 (Sophomore)
In his first season in the Crimson and White, Lumpkins was a contributor off the bench with 20 appearances in 2008-09. At USC (Nov. 18), he had a solid showing in only his second game with six points hitting two of three 3-pointers along with two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Lumpkins then had a career-high 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting with three 3-point field goals in 19 minutes at Long Beach State (Nov. 30). After a three-game road trip, he scored five points and grabbed a career-best five rebounds against Sacramento State (Dec. 11). Lumpkins had six points versus Loyola Marymount (Dec. 28) with his first appearance at the free-throw line where he was 3-for-4. Overall, he helped the Aggies and scored in 12 of the 20 games that he played in as a sophomore.
2007-08
Lumpkins redshirted the 2007-08 season after transferring from Kilgore College.
2006-07 (Freshman)
Prior to joining the Aggies, Lumpkins spent a year at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. He led the Runnin’ Rangers to a 17-13 record for head coach Scott Schumacher. Lumpkins averaged 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
High School
In his senior campaign, Lumpkins directed H.D. Woodson High School to a 10-1 record and first-place finish in the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association East Division. For his efforts, the Washington Post named Lumpkins to the 2006 honorable mention All-Met team. As a junior, he was a Post DCIAA All-League selection for the Warriors.
Personal
Lumpkins was born in Washington, D.C., and is the son of Robert and Angela Lumpkins. He is pursuing a degree in individualized studies.
