2008-09 - Sophomore
Sanchez had a strong finish to her sophomore campaign where she started in the final 16 games of the season. She appeared in 30 games in all in 2008-09 and got the starting nod 18 times. Sanchez finished second on the team with 22 blocks, 20 of which came in WAC play. Those 20 rejections were the seventh most in the WAC in conference games only. Sanchez averaged 2.2 points and 3.2 rebounds on the season. She had two double-digit rebounding performances. The first came Jan. 25 at Idaho, when she pulled down a career-high 11 boards in just 19 minutes of action. Sanchez then recorded 10 rebounds in the regular season finale at home against Louisiana Tech, March 7. On Jan. 4 at Kansas, Sanchez scored a career-high eight points against the Jayhawks while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. She matched her personal-best of eight points, Feb. 22, at San Jose State thanks to 4-of-6 shooting and she grabbed five rebounds. Sanchez had six multi-block games on the year, including two games with a career-high four rejections. She first blocked four shots against Utah State, Feb. 26, and did so again nine days later against La. Tech. In four different games, Sanchez led the team in steals and blocks and she was the high rebounder in three games for the Aggies in 2008-09.
2007-08 - Freshman
Sanchez saw playing time in seven games as a freshman. She made her only shot of the season, which came against Hawai'i, Jan. 31. Sanchez had two games where she pulled down two rebounds and she finished with six boards, three offensive and three defensive on the season. She blocked the first shot of her career in a 71-58 win at Utah State, Jan. 24. Sanchez played her most significant role of the season in that game where she came in during a crucial stretch before halftime to provide a presence in the paint for the Aggies and she also had one rebound in the win. Sanchez averaged 4.0 minutes and 0.9 rebounds per game as a freshman.
Sanchez averaged 11 points and nine rebounds for Eastlake High School as she helped guide the Titans to the San Diego section championship game. She was a second team All-CIF selection as a senior, received San Diego Union All-Area Team accolades and was selected to play in the San Diego All-Star Game. She was the co-Most Valuable Player of the Elite Showcase. Sanchez had a 56.8 field goal shooting percentage and was excellent at the free-throw line, connecting on 82.4 percent of her attempts. Her high school teammate at Eastlake, Brittany Palmer, also played for the Aggies.
